2008-2009 CALENDAR
Monthly Gatherings:Meetings begin at 7:00pm and end at 11:00pm. If you show up early - don't be surprised if you are drafted into helping set up! We try to have food and beverages at every meeting. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed under any circumstances at TGEA meetings (and we don't appreciate people who attend and are obviously inebriated). Members are expected to conduct themselves as Ladies and Gentlemen at our meetings - meaning no lewd behavior or attire. (IF you don't know what lewd is - ask!) We hope to make the meetings a positive experience for everyone who attends.
August 2, 2008 - Getting to know us - guided question and answer session in small groups as an ice breaker and chance to learn about each other.
September 6, 2008 -Erica will be generating Photo ID cards and we are trying for a guest speaker from the Arlington Police Department. Nominations will also be taken for TGEA Board positions - Vice President, Secretary, Membership and Programs.
October 4, 2008 - Dance Lessons - guest in work. Board nominations continue.
November 1, 2008 - Halloween. Costume contest. Board Elections!
December 6, 2008 - Holiday Gala! At the Holiday Inn Arlington. This event is open to the entire community - all are welcome. Invite everyone you know!
January 3, 2009 - Transgender Pictionary. Social time.
February 7, 2009 - Guest therapist to speak on Transgender mental health issues.
March 7, 2009 - Nail care presentation - guest in work.
April 4, 2009 - Jewelry making - demonstration and chance to try it for yourself. Board Nominations.
May 2, 2009 - Status of TG politics - guest in work.
June 6, 2009 - Guest author or discussion of TG literature.
July 11, 2009 - Yearly cookout. Social time.

Out and About Events:
The 2009 IFGE conference will be here in the local Washington DC area, at the Alexandria VA, Hilton Mark Center, near 395 and Seminary Road. The conference runs from February 2nd until the 8th.
